AMBER + COLLIN | BELVOIR WINERY
Amber and Collin were married on September 1, 2018 at the Belvoir Winery. This was my first time shooting at the Belvoir Winery and it did not disappoint! The grounds are perfectly manicured and many of the historical features have been restored. It was a perfect day and setting for this lovely couple to celebrate their wedding day!
This family has become very special to me and I was THRILLED when they got engaged and subsequently asked me to photograph the wedding. It was truly a magical day and I couldn’t be happier for Amber and Collin as they begin this new chapter in their lives!
Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE DAY?
The First Looks (with my Dad and my new husband)
The Speeches-because everything else that I was nervous about was already done, and it was the first time I felt like I could just relax and sit back.
The First Dances (I was initialing really nervous about both dances, I felt like I didn’t have enough time to practice, but when the moment came, everything was so natural. I literally tear up now whenever I heard, “Is This Love, Bob Marley” because it immediately transports me back to our first dance as husband and wife.
Getting to see/talk to everyone after the ceremony/during the reception. It was amazing to have everyone we love and care about in one place.
Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOU DURING THE PLANNING PROCESS?
My husband picked the venue, and I fell in love with it. I love old/historical architecture and the Belvoir reminded me of the house from The Secret Garden. Collin, is named after the main character from the novel, it just seemed “right” to have it at the Belvoir. Since the venue itself is so beautiful, I knew I wanted to keep the extra decoration to a minimum. The colors (plum, gray, white, and green) seemed like the best and most natural choice considering the venue is a winery.
Q: IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY WHEN PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Be less stressed!! It will all come together, eventually, and what doesn’t come together, truly doesn’t matter anyway.
Q: WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING DAY?
Take a deep breath, kiss your finance, and enjoy the process because one day it’s all going to be here, and the next day it’s all going to be done. Enjoy the ride!
Q: DID ANY OF YOUR VENDORS EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
KC Flo Band – AMAZING, and they made a video of the reception for free! They were super flexible and made sure each and every detail was planned prior to the reception.
Burnt End BBQ – DELICIOUS food that everyone was raving about the next day! A lot of our guest said it was “The best wedding food they’ve ever had!”
Belvoir Winery – They accommodated every single request I had, they gave me advice about which bar package would be best for our wedding and they kept our tab under budget! I love Kristen and the entire Belvoir Staff! They made the planning process a lot smoother.
Kaye Ness – You are the reason why this day will be remembered in the most beautiful way possible. You were basically our day-of coordinator and I honestly don’t think my wedding day would have gone as smoothly if you and your partner hadn’t been there. I can’t thank you enough for everything you did on the day of, and leading up to our wedding. It literally would not have been the same without you! I am so thankful we found you! 🙂
Craig Sole Designs – My flowers were GORGEOUS and very reasonably priced. Craig was able to create a floral vision from just a few ideas that I had and it was greatly appreciated because I had no idea what I wanted, other than flowers that were pretty.
