STRECKER AND JOYNER FAMILY | KANSAS CITY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Less than 24 hours later after these pictures were taken, Adrienne’s dad suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke on July 4th. Glen is still recovering in the hospital and will hopefully transferring to a rehabilitation facility soon. Life is incredibly fragile and I’ve had this family on my mind daily. We are rooting for your continued healing, Glen!!

Time goes so fast and years can quickly become fleeting moments. I asked Adrienne why she prioritizes getting pictures taken every year and this is what she had to say:

“My husband’s grandmother visits us from Pennsylvania once a year and we have always tried to document her visit with an extended family photo shoot that would include our children, my husband’s parents and grandmother, and my parents. Our photo shoot went well despite it being an extremely hot night; Kaye was a real trooper and we knew we got some amazing photos.  The very next day, my dad suffered a major hemorrhagic sroke and has been in the hospital ever since.  Unbeknownst to Kaye, who sent us our digital gallery just a few days later, I sat in my dad’s ICU room, tears streaming down my face as I looked over the brilliant pictures of my family – my dad holding my daughter’s hand, or  whispering in my mom’s ear making her laugh.  This is what it’s all about and I am forever grateful for Kaye for capturing these absolutely priceless family moments.”

I have always been more interested in capturing everyday moments and genuine emotions of people and this is reflected in how I photograph my clients. I will always prefer laughter instead of a cheesy smile. I will always prefer to leave the disney band-aid on the scabbed knee instead of photoshopping it out. I will always prefer the image of you gazing at your dog as he wags his tail and kisses your face despite how 'fat' you feel. Time goes REALLY fast so choose to live in the moment and I would love to capture it for you!
