Weston Jay

Stefanie texted me 11pm on Sunday the 28th to let me know she wasn’t feeling quite herself and for me to be on standby. My schedule was cleared and my camera bag packed in preparation to capture the birth. At 3 am I received a text they checked in to the hospital but was she was only dilated to a 2. In fear of missing the call I didn’t get a lot of sleep the rest of the night. Around 6:30 Andy (dad to be) called to inform me that Stefanie is progressing so go ahead and head in around 8. I had been looking so forward to this day and it was finally here! I eagerly packed my bag full of People magazines that I was behind on, a protein shake and snacks to ride out what would probably be a long day. I headed out the door at 7:20 to the hospital. When I arrived at 7:35 and headed towards labor and delivery I found out that Weston Jay had introduced himself at 7:33 am! We were disappointed I missed the anticipation leading up to the birth but am so happy that both Stefanie and Weston were ok and they have a beautiful and healthy baby boy!

The birth went so quickly that it was a surprise to everyone and fun to capture the families expressions. This is the first grandchild on both sides so was a very special day for these two families! I am so happy for you all as you enter new roles as parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles! Happy Birthday, Weston Jay!

Stefanie’s mom walked into the room without even knowing Weston had been born. She told her to look over in the corner and meet her grandson. Maggie was a little shocked!

Andy’s parents brought both a baby girl and boy present since it was a surprise. They were also prepared to be there a while with a cooler of snacks! Little did they know he was already born! Maggie and I kept it a secret until the reveal Stefanie had planned.
